Steering rack rebuild kit – Ford Escort, Capri. Cam Gears/TRW, bronze bushes

Steering rack rebuild kit for all Cam gears or TRW style steering rack as fitted to Ford Escort and Ford Capri including V6 models. Manufactured in sintered bronze.

TRW racks have two inspection plates on the pinion housing, have a seal for the pinion in a bolt on plate and also use a left hand end bush retained by 3 tabs through the rack housing.

This is a complete rebuild kit consisting of left hand bronze bush, 2 x bronze seat/cups, 2 x cup springs, 2 x lock pins for the tie rod lock nuts, pinion seal, and 2 x original style rack boots.

The bronze bush has 2 o’rings to seal against the rack bar. Note a grub screw will need to be adapted to retain this in the housing as the original bush uses 3 tangs to fit into the housing.
